    Short bio

    Eleonora Mencarini has been collaborating with FBK since 2009. She holds a PhD (cum laude) in Computer Science from the University of Trento (Italy) and an MA (cum laude) in Communication Science from the University of Siena (Italy). She has experience in user studies, UI and UX design, conduction of co-design workshops, prototyping, and formative and summative evaluations.

    Research topics

    Eleonora Mencarini's research interests include participatory design, embodied interaction, i.e., the use of technologies that require interaction with the body, such as tangible and wearable devices, the design and use of digital devices in natural environments and technologies that promote awareness, participation, and change towards environmental sustainability. The main application fields where she has conducted her research so far are outdoor sports, playful education, and HCI for climate change.
