Gianluca Schiavo is a psychologist and user experience researcher. He completed his PhD in Cognitive Science at University of Trento (Italy) in 2015 and he is now Post-Doc at FBK. He holds an M.Sc. in Experimental Psychology and Cognitive Science from the University of Padova (Italy).
As cognitive scientist and HCI researcher, Gianluca is interested in the psychological and cognitive aspects of the interaction between human(s) and technology, with an emphasis on the study of co-located interactions with technologies such as interactive tabletops and public displays. In this respect, he is mostly interested in the role of nonverbal communication in human-computer as well in human-human interactions. Other research interests includes the design and the evaluation of educational tools for students with special educational needs for promoting learning and encouraging reading.
