The article is authored by Mark T. Marshall, Daniela Petrelli, Nick Dulake (Sheffield Hallam University) Elena Not, Michele Marchesoni (FBK) Elisa Trenti, Anna Pisetti (Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra) and will appear in the special issue of the journal focussed on "Data Sonification and Sound Design in Interactive Systems" edited by Sandra Pauletto, Howard Cambridge and Patrick Susini (Volume 85, January 2016).

The article reports in detail the co-design, setup and evaluation of a technological intervention for a complex outdoor heritage site: a World War I fortified camp and trenches located in the natural setting of the Italian Alps.
